A native of Wynne, Arkansas, I graduated from Arkansas State University with a BA in Biology. I earned a Master’s Degree in Clinical Chemistry at the University of Tennessee and my JD from the University of Memphis.
I was a partner in a law firm practicing almost exclusively before the Interstate Commerce Commission, various state agencies regulating motor carriers, and nearly all US Courts of Appeals. We had a national practice representing transportation companies, including property and passenger motor carriers, in matters dealing with state and federal departments of transportation, as well as general business matters such as customs, contract and loss & damage claims. In 1996 I became a solo practitioner in Herndon, Virginia, and have represented individuals and businesses since.
I am licensed to practice in Virginia, the District of Columbia and Tennessee.
I provide confidential and cost-effective estate planning and probate administration, tailored to the client’s specific situation and needs. I represents clients in civil litigation, including litigation for estate planners, probate and trust administrators; in guardianship proceedings; and in business entity formation, operation and dissolution. I also represent creditors in bankruptcy proceedings and debt collection.
In addition, I provide legal counsel to victims of family abuse and am certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia as a Guardian Ad Litem (GAL) for incapacitated persons.
